Ivy, why do you use the "♧" symbol all the time?

A 'clique', a small digital element, showing text that reads 'Hydrargyry Kennelz' next to the site logo, a cyan dog silhouette against a purple alchemical mercury symbol. The whole thing is on a teal, blue, and purple gradient.

In honour of my second site clique, I'm going to explain why I use the clubs symbol in a lot of things, including that clique, this site's emphatic text, and my usernames on the forums and Discord!

Four playing cards, all sevens, with the suits of diamonds, clubs, hearts, and spades.

If you aren't aware, the clubs symbol, ♧, respresents the clubs suit in a certain style of playing cards. Its tarot equivalent is the wand/rod/staff, but that isn't relevant, just a neat tidbit!

I'm in the aroacespec community (specifically anegoromantic and anegosexual), and back in the day a lot of aces used to identify themselves with card suits because of the "ace" pun! Aromantic asexual people used spades, romantic asexual people used hearts, demisexual people used diamonds, and grey-asexual people used clubs!

As such, I've grown attached to the clubs symbol as a representation for that identity, so now I use it all the time. It's even part of the name I use to identify my phone in Bluetooth connections!

Come to think of it, some card suit cliques would be interesting. I'd make some with the correct suit colours (black and red), the four-colour colours (black, red, blue, and green), and maybe some with the identity flags...
