Day 1

Bluescreen's Age: 0

Two BirdWorms in Petz. One of them is dark blue with offwhite spots, cyan eyes, and blue glasses. The other is ginger-coloured with aqua eyes, a black beak, and two white bows.

Today, I grabbed my two BirdWorms, Blueberry Jam and Dust Bunny. These two were chosen for their combined genetics, not necessarily for their looks, since I plan on brexing the baby a bit anyway! Still, starting with a dark blue is a bonus.

A birth certificate in Petz, showing a blue BirdWorm with cyan eyes, light blue irises, ginger eyelids, and offwhite spots named Bluescreen.

I tried for babies and wound up with two ginger ones, but then got a blue baby, who I've named Bluescreen. He will be our mascot!

Dust Bunny, the aforementioned ginger-coloured worm, holds Bluescreen in her beak.

Blueberry Jam likes brown, fish, and milk, and Dust Bunny likes brown, fish, and catnip, so I think it is safe to assume Bluescreen will like red, brown, fish, catnip, and milk. I'm using Mythic Silence's sweet food bowl alongside the provided PFM catnip and PFM fish flavoured cat food. Likewise, for toys, I have grabbed the yarn ball, the red tasselled pillow, the small "driftwood" stick, and the burlap scratching post, all of which have colour adjectives of red or brown. For now, because Bluescreen is so tiny and can't eat solid food, I also have the milk bottle.

Everyone is happy and fed, so I think I'm going to log off for now...

Day 2

Bluescreen's Age: 3 (I had no idea 3 is normally skipped on the brainslider, so I set it myself)

Bluescreen with his eyes open, showing the light blue irises.

Bluescreen opened his eyes! He looks kind of odd with the 172 irises, but such is the life of the BirdWorm V4 file. At least the other broken things are fixed... hopefully. Bluescreen is absolutely adorable, though I really wish I could just brex his eyelids already... Ginger doesn't suit him!

Today, since Bluescreen is up and moving, I'm checking to see if Bluescreen and his family are Cheese Cultists.

Blueberry Jam eats cheese.   Dust Bunny eats cheese.

Blueberry Jam and Dust Bunny are definitely both Cheese Cultists!

Bluescreen is intrigued by cheese.

Bluescreen is interested in the cheese, but I dont think he can eat it yet. A good sign so far!

Blueberry Jam and Dust Bunny stand on either side of Bluscreen. There is a red yarn ball near Dust Bunny.   Blueberry Jam and Dust Bunny stand on either side of Bluscreen.

I love this little family so far :')

Day 3

Bluescreen's Age: 6

Blueberry Jam looks down at Bluescreen, who is facing the camera.

Just a normal day so far.

Bluescreen eats from the green food bowl. Dust Bunny looks at him with an angry expression.   Bluescreen eats from the green food bowl. Dust Bunny and Blueberry Jam watch him.   Bluescreen eats from the green food bowl.

Bluescreen ate solid food today! Dust Bunny wasn't very happy with him at first, lol. But she warmed up quickly. (Also, don't worry—whatever is going on with Dust Bunny's beak shouldn't happen in the fixed BirdWorm V4 file anymore!)

Blueberry Jam looks at a grey mouse running around.

I turned mouseholes back on, and a mouse ran out! Bluescreen didn't get a look at it, but Blueberry Jam did. He was kind of... bored with it.

Day 4

Bluescreen's Age: 9

Bluescreen plays with the red yarn ball.   Bluescreen plays with the small stick.   Bluescreen sits on the red tasselled pillow.

One more day before Bluescreen can come out on his own. (One more day until I can finally fix his eyelids and irises too... muahahahaha...)

Until then, he gets to spend more time with Dust Bunny and Blueberry Jam. Nothing out of the ordinary has really happened today either. Bluescreen seems very fond of the yarn ball and stick.

Day 5

Bluescreen's Age: 12

Bluescreen grown up, being larger in size.

Bluescreen is now a... kitten? Chick? Instead of a hatchling? Gods, I wish you could rename stages internally the way you can with breed names.

On the bright side, this means I can finally brex him a little!

Bluescreen's new look, with the same dark blue body, but now whiter spots, entirely cyan eyes, no more light blue irises, and blue eyelids.

I gave him blue eyelids, fixed his irises, and made his spots a white-244 instead of what I call offwhite-202. As it turns out, his irises were blue-175, not 172. I also fixed his beak (which reminds me, I fixed the BirdWorm V4 file in the same way).

Hmm... Bluescreen being a blue BirdWorm with white spots makes me kind of want to add a wizard texture to him...

I also made sure to check him in PetzChecker. I was correct about him liking red and brown and all three of fish, milk, and catnip, but since I have since learned more about favourite flavours and colours (more on that another day!), I'm actually surprised by that! I was under the impression that petz could only take one favourite flavour from each parent. Looks like I still have research to do...

Bluescreen pouncing on a piece of cheese.

I also finally have proof that Bluescreen is a cheese cultist. He devoured this thing not even two seconds after it was on the floor.

Bluescreen wearing the dark blue wizard sweater.

I put Bluescreen in the default wizard sweater to see how the pattern looks. It looks really cool, but I think if I'm going to texture him, I'm going to put my own spin on it...

Bluescreen sleeping on the red tasselled pillow as a grey mouse approaches.

I love when petz are too sleepy to react to mice.

Day 6

Bluescreen's Age: 15

Bluescreen sits on the red tasselled pillow. The scratching post is beside him.

Another normal day.

Bluescreen eats catnip.

I got Bluescreen catnipped today. I always forget petz can get sick from eating it.

Bluescreen sits in front of the green food bowl with his eyes closed as the user puts medicine from the white and red medicine bottle into it.   Bluescreen with his eyes closed and his head stuck out, mid-sneeze.

Naturally, I had to fix that.

Day 7

Bluescreen's Age: 21? (I have no clue what happened there.)

Bluescreen looks to the side.

Somehow, despite opening the game today for the first time in five days, Bluescreen has aged by 6 instead of 3. Aside from that, it's just another typical day, nothing special.

Bluescreen eats from the purple food bowl.

Bluescreen is at a happy and healthy weight of 59. I don't like letting petz drop below 50 most of the time.

Bluescreen watching a grey mouse being held up by the user.   Bluescreen carrying around the grey mouse.

I grabbed a mouse for Bluescreen. He took it and carried it around for a bit, then let it go.

Bluescreen drinks from the faucet tap in the Petz kitchen.

I also got Bluescreen to drink from the tap! I had to try it after seeing others do it with their raised catz, lol.

Day 8

Bluescreen's Age: 27 (seriously what is happening to my game)

Bluescreen's adulthood approaches fast! One more day till he's 30. (It sounds so funny without Petz context, lol.) Or will it be one day until he's 33?? Literally why.

Today, I figured I'd spoil us all by getting some GIFs of Bluescreen hanging around.

Bluescreen pounces from offscreen onto a fish treat.   Bluescreen stands still grooming himself as a yarn ball rolls by.   Bluescreen eats from the green food dish.   Bluescreen tries to pick up the red tasselled pillow, only to fail. He then looks around almost panickedly.

Day 9

Bluescreen's Age: 27 (again)

I think my game has finally caught on to its time fuckery and has made it so that 10 days = 30 age, as it should be. Today should be just a normal day of Petzing.

Bluescreen jumps up and flops ungracefully beside a cursor of a hand.

As a side note, I can't believe I've taken 40 photos for this project already. Here's #41, a GIF of Bluescreen flopping over from the sheer weight of Fullness 100. (Mind the cursor; I was AFK when this happened.)

Bluescreen bats futilely at a rolling green ball with yellow polka-dots.

I introduced Bluescreen to the auto rolling ball today, mostly to try and hone his catching skills. He... wanted to bat it more than pounce on it, but that's OK.

Bluescreen bounces in place.

I also got to see Bluescreen do a little bounce when I pulled the ball out!

Bluescreen pounces from offscreen onto a flower-shaped yogurt treat.

Next time I open Petz, Bluescreens will be an adult! It's exciting! Maybe I should introduce him to some of my other creturs...

Day 10

Bluescreen's Age: 33 (oh boy)

I spoke too soon when I said the game finally caught onto the age issue.

Bluescreen being pet by the hand-like cursor.

Today is a normal day. I'm busy today, so I'll save getting everybody to meet until tomorrow.

Day 11

Bluescreen's Age: 39 (literally wtf, game)

Bluescreen gets to meet some of my other petz today!

Bluescreen and Boreal, a purplish fuzzy dog, growl and hiss before seeming fine and parting ways.

Bluescreen met Boreal first. I'm... not sure if they like each other, or if they hate each other, or what...

Bluescreen and Lopho, a black and cyan cat resembling a greater lophorina, hop in place while looking at each other.   Lopho lifts and puts down his legs repeatedly while Bluescreen stares at the cursor hand.

Bluescreen met Lopho next. I think these two definitely like each other!

Bluescreen and Sebbie, a brown dog resembling a chipmunk, interact before Bluescreen runs off and Sebbie lies down sadly.

Bluescreen met Sebbie as well. The two seemed to get along at first, but then Bluescreen jumped onto the ceiling and Sebbie decided he didn't like that.

Bluescreen and Sunny, an orange dog with a blue collar, hops in place and barks at an intrigued Bluescreen.

Finally, I had Bluescreen meet Sunny, who probably will be the other site mascot! I had to reintroduce my Tinybaby Dog file to get her out, though. Lol.

Bluescreen and Sunny interact, with Bluescreen sneezing and then Sunny sneezing.

Based on the happy sneezing from Sunny, they're pretty fond of each other!

Day 12

Bluescreen's Age: 45 (whyyyyy)

It's been a week and a bit since my last update here, mostly because I had literally 0 time for Petz between preparing for school and other assorted life stuff. But now I'm back!

Bluescreen sits in front of a Jolly Roger pirate flag.

Today I took Bluescreen to visit the other playscenes, but almost none of them had items appear. Lol. Bluescreen did pose nicely in front of the pirate flag, though.

Day 13

Bluescreen's Age: 51 (ugh)

Time to introduce Bluescreen to some new toys! Why? For fun, mostly.

Bluescreen looks quizzically at a ruby.   Bluescreen throwing and catching a ruby.

First up was this ruby (a separate item from the playscenes thanks to Megan@Oasis), which Bluescreen was initially confused by but soon liked!

Bluescreen plays with a brown, paw-print marked ball.

Next, I showed Bluescreen the brown-coloured ball from Gyiyg's paw ball collection, which he really seemed to like!

Bluescreen plays with red, faintly spotted feather.

Then it was the red feather. Bluescreen played with it but lost interest quickly.

Bluescreen naps on a brown coconut.

Next was the coconut, which Bluescreen decided to... fall asleep with?

Bluescreen sleeps soundly as a red remote controlled car tries to run him over several times.

He continued to sleep even as the RC car nefariously tried to run him over.

Bluescreen pushed around a shiny grey ball.   Bluescreen shakes his head in time with the hand cursor shaking the grye ball, until it eventually explodes into confetti.

Finally, I brought out a confetti ball, which he was only intrigued by for a moment... until I started shaking it, and he watched it so intently I fear for the poor guy's head.

Day 14

Bluescreen's Age: 57 (I guess this is my life now)

Bluescreen knocks the brown pawprint ball out of the yellow Carrying Case.

In trying to pack items for GIF-collecting today, Bluescreen knocked out the brown ball! He then did it again during the recording session. He must really like it...

Other than that, today was a usual day of shenanigans. I'll have to think of things to do with him for the next little while...
